In September 1996, HomeTown Buffet, Inc. was acquired by Buffets, Inc. (BI) through the merger of Country Delaware, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of BI, with and into HomeTown. Prior to the acquisition, HomeTown Buffet, Inc. was engaged in the operation and franchising of scatter bar buffet restaurants under the name, ‘HomeTown Buffet’, in the United States.
